The McCleary Home Page
John We just started this home page business so be patient. Plan to have pictures as soon as we can figure it out. My many interests and ongoing projects don't seem to get done with constantly working (and we won't talk about that right now!!). However, when I do have time I like: guitar pickin' (both country AND western), travel, camping, good books, running (barely), making home brew, history, trying to play golf, music (Sawyer Brown) and singing in the church choir. What did I leave out?
What I Did On My Summer Vacation. My longed-for summer was squashed by the necessity of taking a bone-crusher course, but I've tried to make the best of it by getting out of the house as much as possible. I miss the travel opportunities in Europe!! John & I went to Nashville for a weekend & stayed at the Opryland Hotel. $$$ Charlie Pride still looks and sounds the same. Kids & I visited best friends Charmie and Pat in Charlotte, NC confirming that we're still crazy after all these years albeit a settled kind of crazy. Also in that category are Bill Bud in Tallahassee and Keith who visited from Dothan, AL. Also visited both sets of parents and wish we lived closer. We've also done some camping & fishing. Olive the dog loves it. Now I'm trying to switch mental gears & begin preparing for the school year and my Alpine Psychoed darlings. Never a dull moment.
Sheila
Sara & Jack Sara started off the summer with the district Ga. Games in kayaking. She won 3 gold medals & 2 bronze. Mom helped her win one of the bronze in the mother-daughter canoe race. Later in the summer at the Ga. Games championships, Sara won 2 bronze medals. (Came in 4th in mom-daughter canoe race). This week she is at kayaking camp. She foregoes swim team practice in the summer to concentrate on kayaking but did participate in a long course swim meet in Tallahassee in June. She likes to beat John swimming laps. Today she swam 100 25m laps to John's 80. She is a hoss. If it has to do with water, Sara is there. Jack learned (finally) to ride his bike without training wheels this summer and he is proud indeed. He has gone to a nature camp and next week will go to a church activity week called Chiggers. Both kids stayed with Nanny & Papa Ingram for several weeks, giving Mom & Dad a break (Mom could do her research paper) but wearing out their grandparents. While in FL, they went to Kennedy Space Center and Universal Studios, fulfilling their dream of seeing Nickelodeon. They also did some flying with Papa and a lot of fishing & swimming.
